Would you buy a mulcher mower?

Double that , list price....

I know it's a lotta money, but you'd get a fair chunk off that, but still probably 15k? Stuff like this, don't come cheap, whatever way you look at it.
Place I do some work at, bought one a few years ago, I test drove it and Was sitting with the owner when the deal was struck, but there was a mower traded in (a Walker, pile of rubbish, absolutely useless, iirc that was 14:eek:) it was hands down the best thing we did, so much faster, no grass to pick up, it's just awesome! They have/had a gardener once a week, and he can cut the lawn and then get on with other things if need be, before it was all he could do to get the lawn cut!

Downside is, you've gotta keep on top of the job, not let things get out of hand, but generally, does a lovely job, and doesn't leave a mark or trace of cut grass:cool:
And...keep the blades sharp(y)
oh i agree ,i would have one at the drop of a hat ,but i dont spend that sort of cash on a car ,:)

I certainly can't afford anything like that!

That's a shame:(

But you get the idea(y)

There are places to pic up secondhand kit like this, but most of it will have had a good life with a council or contractor of some sort, and any real bargains will be cheap for a reason I'd think....

But personally, I think I'd be looking for maybe a secondhand commercial mower , rather than a new hobby mower, if that makes sense....

We've got a Husqvarna rider, not really a hobby mower, but not a full blown commercial, but I can't recall the model, its petrol , got a 112cm deck on it, 4wd, would not be incapable of cutting your area, far from it, but would be circa 5k for one like it now I reckon........

Not really sure. Bought on a whim and forgot to look for an engine.

Spec says 80hp Mitsubishi turbo. It weighs 3ton!!!!

Wow, some tool! And some whim:eek:, I do like a whim like that .....:sneaky:

80hp....was thinking it would need something like that? I'm guessing they are all hydro cutters? Not pto driven via shafts? Will be some power consumption when they are in full mulch mode! That's without moving 3t of machine ! .......

No that was two years ago, hence we went with Iseki SXG 326 High lift, and empty into a four ton trailer, cut 10/12 acre weekly, Ex demonstrator machine 40 hrs on clock £10,500 inc vat.

Was 2013 when I had any dealings with prices on them, £16k ish rings a bell, but included a hefty wedge for a trade in, which means there was even more movement for a straight deal.....but things going up all the time.

Each to their own, you are happy with your choice, and why not, sounds good.
Personally I like the idea of not collecting and accumulating grass cuttings, no time spent emptying, and the manoeuvrability of the Husky is a real winner.

But as you've highlighted, it all comes at a cost!

Iseki do an out front deck machine but not sure if they do a mulch deck for it. We did have a Husqvarna mulcher (petrol 18 hp) not a patch on the bigger diesel. I got the feeling Husky were going to drop the big diesel.
