Wreckers!!

Most trailer will have a swivel eye but it will onle help in a slow roll over such as when tipping. When the whole thing starts to bounce and then snake.....
Not sure a swivel hitch would be of that much help , sure it will swivel if the trailer goes over but the main issue is the drawbar, with the trailer in the upright position, is designed to be at the optimum hitch height for the tractor , approx two feet Ish .
when a trailer is on its side the drawbar is now four and a half feet off the ground so lifts the rear of the tractor off the ground.
Normally when a trailer goes over the back wheels of the tractor are left dangling off the ground.. You would need a swan neck type arrangement with the swivel at a constant height from the ground trap to the trailers mass so even if it goes over the attaching ring hitch is still at hitch height ensuring the tractors stability.

Do the new driving rules now mean farmers etc cannot go more than 60 miles from base
As there was no limit before as i understand it
Also any vehicle capable of going over 40 k not hgv etc
And more worrying the possibility we need to keep to the 11 hour working day unless we never drive on a public road in that day
Ie if go to a field and work 12 hours in field
But drive home 2 mins its all down as working day
Probably not in right category but
I tried to search driving hours etc but i could see no topic so put it under wreckers as we need to stop accidents
Hopfully
You top guys can blow all this into the sky

I thought the previous limit to a tractors range was 30miles before you needed an O licence so may be better off?

Not o licence i am on about driving hours
Not working for more than 11 hour day

Its a bit contradictory but all rules are nowadays leaving grey areas

And being a contractor not a farmer and not having any land its better getting farmers to hire tractors unless they are a part off a silage combining service you cannot be payed to cart silo or grain etc as haulage
Blaa blaa its best to keep head down and flashy lights off
but worry all these accidents by idiot unskilled drivers have f.. up for us all

Don’t ask me! Contrary to opinion on here I’m not an expert on everything and driving hours, tachographs and o licenses certainly aren’t one of them.

But you may be from now on lol
If ag stuff is included in new rules from jan 2021
But not knowing you or what you do i aint gotta clue but your name does keep poping up now and then wen thing get interesting on here lol

In 2005 We had to put tachograph’s and apply for o licenses for all our tractors as we was working outside the 30 mile limit( I think that was it) one of biggest problem was when we applied for the o Licenses quite a few of the locals in one of the villages we operate out of ,thought I was getting a fleet of lorries which was wrong it was for all for our tractors, Unheard of tractors having to have o Licenses We did get our operators license. cut a long story short. which allowed us to go anywhere. You could fetch an input for your farm from anywhere in the country on your tractor even with red diesel but you could not take an output further than the operating distance of your base as we were contractors this is why I needed the o licenses .
