Tried to order a box of these from our Gallagher dealer and was told they were discontinued.

Is this just here or over there as well? Hard to understand why they would quit making the only post of theirs that was worth a sh!t.

Strainrite/Robertson HD ones are the best I've found. Gallagher orange blends in to the background very well!

I'm not a massive fan of the anti tangle ones, the plastic feet are iffy and they still tangle! They are a fair bit more flexible too, so you can't do corners with them. They are a lot lighter though, and they don't wearing through where the wire rubs them, which can be an issue with others.

I used to import those posts into the uk 17 years ago, you’d be more astounded at what the cost price is vs the retail!
I think that comment could be made for most things these days. I've been told that there is no product in the Nike sportswear range that costs more than $10 to produce. I've tracked a hydraulic ram from the manufacturer to the dealers counter and the markup was 1600%. If Kramp can sell Kuhn tines for £8 why does Kuhn charge £36 etc. etc.

I’ve always preferred the hotline type post with a zig-zag in the bottom,no welds to break.

Hate those, twist in the ground, inherited some from my FIL and father welded a plate across the bottom!

Totally correct, I used to sell them for £16 per pack of 10, there now double that, a customer had a friend take one back to China, I next had a phone call offering to make them for £5 per 10, only snag was I had to order 30,000 only being 15 at the time and still at school I wasn’t able to, in hindsight it would of been a good investment!

We carry everything between the leg and the 4 wheeler, so no problems with tangling. The anti tangle post is too light and flimsy, prone to spinning and don’t like going in dry rocky soil. Definitely not something you want on a turnip break.

We can have some long breaks at times, have a few half mile reels that get strung out regularly.

I guess I’ll have to look at other brands. These were convenient for me to buy and not so pricey. Just can’t understand why they discontinued them here.

Half a mile! You must have arms like Hercules to wind the reel in!
Pity I wasn’t allowed to increase my paddock size from a minimum of 3 acres by the County council and the Welsh Asssembly!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
