Also, is anyone exporting .csv batch payments and importing into Bankline?
Had a quick try last month but Bankline kept rejecting the file. I’m sure it’s just a layout issue but is anyone successfully doing it or Do I need a call to the dreaded helpline?

Anyone else finding the new MTD system strange and a bit empty compared to the old VAT system on Xero?

I used to be able to see total VAT owed by/to HMRC, but now none of that is visible. Seems a bit of a backwards step in terms of keeping on top of budgets.

its different but all the info is there still - I guess we will get used to the new layout over time

to see what you owe / they owe you just click on review at anytime pre actual filling

Yes, I see the "View" button where you can then go to the screen to select the dates relevant. The old system had the dates pre-populated relating to the next return due.

You can view the transactions by VAT box (like old VAT return but without the individual transactions), or by VAT rate (as per old VAT Audit screen). Nowhere however does it seem to do a calculation of VAT due/relclaimable (i.e. box 5 i think)

click accounting click vat return , click review, click Vat return next to the choices of vat box or vat rate box 5 is there or should be .

Review button? I assumed @Clive was referring to the "view" button.

I only have this screen visible.....and then need to click "View" half way down on RH side, select the dates on next page and click "Display" at the top.

Am I missing a "Review" button?

if you set it to show on the dashboard you get this

click on the VAT Return word and you get this

Click review and you can see the same details and reports you could pre MTD changes

Decided to rename it "Making Tax Diabolical" today after phoning HMRC.

Turns out the system has pulled over the old business name (changed in 2010!) not the current one. No record shown their end of swapping to monthly returns.

Apparently they've had a few issues.

(sorry, not directly Xero related at all....but thought I'd warn others that HMRC have admitted there are gremlins in the system with some customers)

Just getting going with Xero.
The bank update seems off the pace.(Natwest )
This morning it is up to 26th April. Is that normal ?

Click on the bank account and refresh the feed, if you get a notification to say refresh is complete (2-5 mins) then you will need to reload the bank feed page.

If you’re using Bankline then your password might have expired so you need to login to Bankline, reset password, go back into Xero, update the bank feed details and refresh again.

I think he might be using direct feed rather than Yodlee.
