Hello, looking for some help with the above as I have a really bad clutch slip and struggling to find a centrifugal clutch. Had the clutch apart 3 times and finally resorted to smoothing the inside of the basket to no avail.

I know its a long shot, but does anyone have one?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Can you get the shoes re-lined somewhere?

Thanks for the response. I didn't think about that but will have a look around. They look as if they have plenty left on them which is strange and the grooves are still about 1-2mm deep. Is there anything else it could be, am I maybe looking in the wrong place ? The quads certainly slipping, it will move around on level ground but any kind of incline and its stationary

If not the centrifugal clutch what are the other clutch plates like, could also be the one-way bearing.

The clutch plates are all fine too , plenty of friction material left & grooves are fine. What could be wrong with the bearing , its still only turning one direction? Is there something else I should look at? I was also wondering if I could maybe widen my search , most of these old Japanese bikes seem to use the same parts. Would it be worth look for a Kawasaki/honda equivalent?

I'm not sure tbh, if the centrifugal clutch was worn, it'd need higher revs than normal to get goin, but it should still go, any signs of heat or discolouration anywhere? It's a job to know without looking, i'd be tempted to either get hold of a manual and measure the components to make sure they're in spec, or try a set of clutch plates and give it a go, i'm not sure that it could be much else without it making a horrendous noise from the gearbox. I'm not entirely sure how the one-way bearing works but i do know that it doesn't take much wear to get them out of spec, and the wear is nearly impossible to see.

The centrifugal basket is slightly discoloured but I wouldn't say an abnormal amount. It seems to move less the more revs I apply, I sort of need to ease the revs on to get it moving. I'll shop around for a manual because there isn't a massive amount on the internet not like it's a flagship model .

Have you put the wrong type of oil in this can make the clutch slip

I hadn't put the wrong oil but wasn't sure if someone else had i.e my brother as it did have a slight oil leak before I replaced the gasket so I took the entire clutch out, soaked in petrol then soaked in the right oil but it made no difference

Sometimes the adjusters get stuck and winds in and out of the casing but not actually moving inside. Have you got any free play in your pedal?
