This is the official briefing last week under our new PM. I suspect that it looks very much like the previous briefings due to the fact nothing has changed

Or what you mean is.....
It's the same project fear crap as before, presented to a new administration and dismissed out of hand for the absolute rubbish that it is.
Latest news is that the new administration are putting things in place for a smooth and orderly exit.
Unlike the previous administration, that sat on it's hands with its fingers crossed, hoping Brexit would die away.
It's really happening man.
If not Halloween this year it will happen in the future.

.

Your post has disappointed me. Initially, in this post, you sound full of self-confidence and I was becoming much enthused, then I get to the last two sentences and you seem to be dithering, capitulating into just accepting that can may get kicked down the alley yet again. C/mon man where is your spunk. Our leader has rallied, he has proclaimed 'Do or Die' as on the eve of Agincourt. Cannot have the loyal followers slinking off - Mr Johnson needs you in preparation for his epic People versus Parliament crusade later in the autumn.

Or are you too preoccupied with post 25929 to rally to the cause!! if so I can fully understand - mesmerising is all I will say. Perpetual motion at last discovered.

I think you will find the major concern is that France has been putting the customs facilities in place and announced its intention of enforcing the rules to the letter. So goods in transit over that time will have to have got the duty paid if they are not through Calais by midnight 31st. Oct.
It is thought few hauliers will be in position to have this ensured.
This Friday is the beggining of half term too, a traditional very busy time for travellers going through as well.
Chaos will be the order of the day
Wonder what English customs will make of travellers bringing their usual allowance of fags and booze back , rather than third country level of 200 fags and a couple of bottles of wine :)
I rather expect they will be too busy drinking tea, to worry though

Lunchtime News is saying BoJo and Patel have kicked out the transition for free Movement of people and want a hard border from 1st November.
Full checks at border, 40 million people pass each year.
My advice- take sandwiches and Tea.

The war of words ratcheting up. Going to see soon enough if Bojo and the Conservatives and DUP are prepared to go ahead with the No Deal bluff. Getting fun watching BoJo go all Alf Garnett. A while to go yet.
