Almost had the ranger stuck today and dad left some 6inch deep marks tracking across some stubble turnips yesterday in the digger so I daren’t go anywhere near with a hedge cutter. Worst 8 weeks in 30yrs now I think

Well the good thing about Hedgetrimming is, that it is flexible enough to be left undone for a year or so.
Having said that, all our arable fields are done .

Another dreary start after yesterdays 10mm. A decent frost is now about the only thing that will let us get started round the beet again. Hand pulling 6 rows of huge gappy fodder beet where the drill was running out. This might allow us to get at some drain junctions and section of the header that lies a bit flat and fills with sand. We put some traps in but looks like they might need clearing and the laterals jetting as and when we can get near it with the equipment.
It could have so easy. Really about 150m of header needs lifting and relaying a bit deeper through a hill to get more fall. That's a job we have been meaning to do for 40 years.
