Started a steady down pour now, been overcast most of the day but stayed dry,

Anglia Forcast for the next few days.
Sunny/bright spells and scattered heavy showers or thunderstorms developing through the day tomorrow. These showers will bring the risk of lightning strikes, with rainfall accumulations reaching 15-20mm in the space of an hour within the heaviest downpours. Localised flooding cannot be ruled out, especially where the showers are most frequent. Showers will gradually ease through tomorrow evening, eventually clearing by late evening to leave a mainly dry night with some clear spells. Very little change is expected on Monday with the risk of further heavy showers or thunderstorms, bringing high hourly rainfall accumulations and the additional threat of lightning strikes. Becoming drier overnight. Further scattered showers are likely to develop on Tuesday, although at this stage they do not look as heavy and should pass through swiftly on a brisk westerly wind. Sunny spells and a few showers on Wednesday.

East Anglia forecast for the day:
Sunny spells between heavy, frequent showers today, these showers potentially developing into thunderstorms, bringing the risk of locally frequent lightning too. Rainfall totals of 15mm or so within an hour will be possible in the heaviest of downpours, with this allowing for 24h totals to exceed 20mm if more than one shower occurs in any given area. Showers will ease through the evening but will take time to clear, with perhaps one or two showers lingering in places overnight.
