Would agree, 2011 for us was a great year 2012 was a disaster which lasted into 2013. 2014 ok 2015 greatand 2016 poor. Would take a year like this year so far every year but doesn't suit everyone's land.

Last year was worse for us than 2012, i think it was quite sporadic and we seemed to get every bit going. The worse part of 2012 was the Autumn as we got very little drilled.

Anyway we will see what happens in 6 weeks when we start to cut. There is potential there let's say that.

I am going to be cautious and say 3t/a but if the next 6 weeks weather play ball then fingers crossed

Plenty sunshine and not too much rain will bring me a good harvest. The potentials there for a five ton per acre crop but we probably won't get enough sun to deliver.Heres hoping though!

It's in the hands of the weather gods for now, going on ear numbers (I have forgot what it was now) I would hope for 3.5 t/acre but the potential for more is there providing the weather plays ball

Time will tell if I'm being to optimistic with my "wishtamate" but we have come thru the heat wave fairly well ,,,,, most of my wheat had a drink this afternoon ,,,,,, I suppose I've just got to hope that we don't get any storms that lay my wheat on the deck !!!!!!!

Some will do 2.5 ton, hope some will do 3.5.
Barley looked promising 10 days ago, now looks burnt to ****.
Cannot help the weather and everybody selling inputs has had their money with no risk....again.

You may have the last laugh if you can hold the grain long enough

Northern crops look excellent this year

I will be amazed if that is not over 4t

wheat averages t/ha

2011. 9
2012. 8
2013. - no WW
2014. 9.25
2015. 11
2016. 9.5
2017.......?

so for me I am going to say 2.8/3 tonne per acre. The drought early on and then the high temps last week have taken their toll. Wheats dying off patchy and not looking great now.

But it's better than what it would have been had we not caught those heavy rains in early may!!! Would have been a write off

I quite agree and I have a fair proportion of my wheat looking like Turbo's hence my optimistic wishtimate ,,,,,, but having just seen a forecast it might just be that the weather might just have the last laugh!!!!!'

Now rape is the crop I'm nervous about ,,,,,, think I might of put a bit to little N on , and there's a lot of pods that didn't form ,,,,,, certainly not guesstimateing the yield ,,,,,,, hopefully be okay
I dont have any but I can see osr being decent. Plenty of sunshine at flowering.

One agronomist said he thought OSR had had near ideal conditions this year. That said, to echo Mr Charisma, I'm still a bit nervous. Crop looks great, but I am worried it was over thick which has led to not a very deep canopy.

I think we will have a huge range of wheat yields this year. Have some very poor looking 2nd wheats up to reasonable looking 1st wheats in places. 6-10 t/ha range I think. Some has been hit by the dry weather / heat much more than others for whatever reason. Overall I do not expect the average to be great.

it must be the northern powerhouse ,but yes ours have improved particularly revelation and evolution to the extent that we reckon they justify the late ear wash to keep them going or at least stop deterioration if it comes wet when all but ripe
