I had a monumental fall out with the old fella a number of years back. We were looking to change a tractor and he had had a conversation with the local case dealer who had a 5130 in. we had a 7840 turbo and I wanted a 8340 to go with it. Anyway i said i didn't want anything to do with a 5130 and if he bought it he could drive the f**king thing.

A few days later we were doing a contracting job for a chap who had a 5140. After some cajoling on my part i got the old man to have a sit in it. After a minute or 2 he got back out turned to me and said 'yes i can see what your getting at'

We bought a Ford 8240 a few weeks later.

I did demo a very late one,think it was P plate,found it very under powered,I bought a 103.54 Renault instead (y)
Man not far from us had 2 5120s used to pull a 4 furrow reversible up hill and down dale , they weren't too lively on the road though (n)
Although they were dynamite compared to their neighbours MX90 C bloody slug of a thing it was

I had a west 1300 duel spreader behind it,as you said,on the road it wasn't great for 95hp..the 7610 it was going to replace was much more pokey as the 103.54 was,a proper pocket rocket (y)

Well naturally the 7610 is a whole different class of machine ;):ROFLMAO:
I think the 5120 was fairly heavy for it's power , apparently they're great loader tractors with a heavy back end and power shuttle (y)

I think had I been doing more land work, the 5120 would of been ideal, back then it was all trailer and spreader work..
