Bet what you like you wont find anything now
Ah well that's been upgraded to a 'mother'dont see a kettle
I will. It'll now be in one of three places rather than one of five. I can rule out floor and bench for a few days.Bet what you like you wont find anything now
you have space, something I am lacking of, mine is more like the tardis without the big bit inside, but i manage, and have to work outdoors on big stuff in open sided shedThis was the scene of my workshop when I finished on Christmas eve. Decided it was maybe time for a tidy up and a virtual tour if anyone's interested. View attachment 447908
First job was finding a place for the rolling tool. It'll only get used 2 or 3 times a year and I've nowhere dry to keep it so up it went!

It only took 4 days but I did eventually find the workbench top.

Is there such a thing as enough space? I could get 2 tractors in side by side if I wanted but realistically it's one machine in the middle and plenty of space to get round it.you have space, something I am lacking of, mine is more like the tardis without the big bit inside, but i manage, and have to work outdoors on big stuff in open sided shed
no sorry not got a dog here
That's cool but I can see within a week I'd have have robbed the wheels for another job and the engine for another and so on.....dave some tool storage
View attachment 453514 Finally get this put together had it a mouth and had no time to do it when you have a tool problem all you want to do is play. Very impressed so far @Dave W
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262664437782I do like that...! Did you have if cheap or any offers going.?
As @Dave W said it's good for the money for a 50 ton press I flattered a bit a 10mm angle no problem earlier. I have been looking for a second hand one for years.I do like that...! Did you have if cheap or any offers going.?
Second hand always tend to be industrial and well over £1kAs @Dave W said it's good for the money for a 50 ton press I flattered a bit a 10mm angle no problem earlier. I have been looking for a second hand one for years.
can you remember what they wanted for the induction unit?I spent a few hours at LAMMA today and these almost tempted me, All from Hall 4 which had LOADS of tool companies :
1KW Induction heaters from Sykes-Pickavant on show offer (Stand 432) - They even had a 12V one to run from a tractor battery
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262664437782
£636 inc vat and delivery.
I think they're excellent value. 50t is a bit overkill. I've not needed to get it over 20t yet but I'm sure I will!
A proper industrial spec one will be 5 times the price and although better made you won't find it any handier for farm use
The 1Kw Sykes-Pickavant one was on a show offer at £575 Inc vat. Elsewhere a company called Stanners were exhibiting water cooled 4 Kw, 10 Kw and 12 Kw ones starting at £2200.can you remember what they wanted for the induction unit?
they certainly are a handy tool to have, induction heaters that is, there are nice ones that will heat up a bearing for fitting but unless i was full time changing exhausts i dont really see the use of the above version altho ill admit i could be missing the bigger picture here.
round an engine maybe there would be a few uses but i cant think of too many tbh, not for the price of one anyways.
nice press that, ye will be glad of the 50T when ye do need it.
ive managed here for many years with one i built when i was a lad, 3 bits of H iron and a portapower ram with a hand pump that can ramp up 10,750 psi so she has a right bit of power even for a small cylinder.
but as time moved on ive the urge to build a home made one of my own.
and some day i might even get it done.......
i have all the parts for one here now, just the damn time is all im short of.
it should be a nice one tho, doing some calcs it should spit out just short of 200T.....
the table is 300x100 solid steel....
and she will have a 4' mouth....
and if i could only get the blinkin time....
