it wasnt dear at that price ill admit, iirc a rep here the other day said his version was 900 iirc.
id work a lot on bolts given my trade, i dont think at any point id ever need one, maybe an exhaust manifold or pipe bolt/nut but after that i cant see a use for one.
its the kind of tool id buy a dirt cheap one first and if i wore it out or broke it id buy a quality one seeing since i was using it so much, but there aint cheap induction heaters so ill happily go without until someone breaks the trial barrier.

it ill get cheap yet...
S-P said they'd stand by the show price until the end of the month.

The Stanners unit is in a different class. It's proper industrial kit with water cooling to allow continuous use if need be. Also, their rep said he could lend me one for a week's trial if I wanted

does anyone rate the hitachi battery tools? we have the 18v 5ah kit with a drill and 1/4 impact driver and fancying adding 4 1/2 grinder and probably 1/2 impact gun for now. very impressed with it so far, every now and again it snapps the 1/4 drive adaptor with sockets on.

they may not be the best but do they give any grief?

I love hitachi. Very underrated in my opinion.
I got a 18v combo drill and it is awesome. Had it 18 months and not had the 240v drill out since.
Bought a 1/2" impact gun so I could use the same batteries and that is equally as good.
Not used any other makes to be fair

Yes I have finally standardised on Hitachi. The 6 Ah batteries are good. If you get a grinder I strongly recommend the brushless one. My previous one with brushes didn't last long. I am going to order the cordless impact wrench next week so it can share batteries with the drill and the grinder.
