Nothing would surprise me at ABP but any half decent firm won't be paying 30p a kilo more to anyone...I'll guarantee you thatYou would be very surprised!

You were inferring that some finishers were getting 30p a kilo over base for supplying large quantities of finished cattle...If you get an E grade then maybe so

So you're saying if I can supply 100 E grade cattle a week ill get an extra 30p a kilo over base plus the 23p you get over base for an E? So on today's prices £3.98 a kilo?Yep if you buy all E grade cattle that could be the case.

I'd like to know where you get 100 E grade cattle a week!Yep im sure its being done.

U grades are £3.55 This week3.68 for U grade cattle so add on the E bonus and 20pk extra then you aren't far off your £4 kilo
So what's your reasoning?Don't forget mind that the really big fhinshers ( sending 2/3 artics every week ) are on 20/30pk more than everyone else, soon mounts up on a 400 kilo beast!
Did you take any hoggets to shrewsbury @beefandsleep it sounded a decent trade
best Hoggs very good in Shrewsbury had £98.50 for 45.5kg texels
That would be your new favourite mart then?Cleaned up the last of our hoggs yesterday (well except for 6 or 7 'lamed, maimed and out and out bad doers' now in a shed getting a bit of 'intensive' treatment).
42kg £84 (200p/kg).......three parts Tex
43kg £85 (197.6p/kg)
43kg £72 (167.4p/kg)......Tex x mule
44kg £71 (161.4p/kg)
38kg £63 (165.8p/kg)
Decent trade for the good skinned ones, the Tex x mules dragged the average down but have to happy for the tail-enders in a year like this.
