The secret to grass in spring. No sheeps and autumn slurry
Getting the sheep off in time is the key. They are a good way to thicken lays up

Are they trying to tell you something? Let the door stay open.Cows out this morning- forgot to close door properly last night . Luckily didn't get to the road or worse someone's lawn.
Can you elaborate for the non conformistsVery pleased to see Dale Farm be the first to put an official price guidance down on paper. This may be just for one month, but it should be very well received by members, and I'd think should by popular demand play a roll in how we sell our milk to the dairy going forward.
See ye all at Stringy's tomorrow then?
The medium to long term view has been good since I left school, don't expect the processors to say anything else. What price would you need to commit to investment? 2 years ago the 10 year average price for the UK was 25p, by the end of last summer it was 24, I'm not saying that that's a good price but it's probably a reasonable number to do investment calculations on.It's OK a pat on the back for the dairy but milk is a very poor price at 25p. Why would I invest in milk at this moment. I need a complete new cow house and palour but the confidence is not there. I'm getting old waiting. Milk good medium to long term. Spin. Keep us at the coal face. Cheap food keeps the peasants happy.
Commonly read phrases from the last 10 yrs - 'short term volatility', 'medium to long term prospects good', 'growing global population and westernisation of diets leading to increases in demand for dairy products'. All meaningless if the supply of milk is greater than the demand. The medium to long term view has been good since I left school, don't expect the processors to say anything else. Are we not your friendsGood move from Dale Farm IMO. Fed up finding out the milk price on here or some other media before me (a shareholder in the business) received the milk cheque. I hope they can continue to do this on a monthly basis. Mr Whelan seems to have made a few changes since coming in, some good and some maybe not so good, but he does appear to be more farmer friendly.
Well find out who each of us are........end of the threadIs there going to be a Northern Ireland Milk Price thread stand?
