I was chatting to a lad who was sweeping the road once and it turned out he was far more qualified educationally than I was, offered to teach me about computers, but couldn't get a job he was qualified for because he was seen as over qualified and therefore too expensive :scratchhead:

lol @ phone, day 1 discovered crap reception in Devon. mildly amusing to witness guests cold sweats at poor reception and slow wi-fi speeds. Re wildlife.....hmmm yup but not sure i can eat something i have 'met'. Bit like restaurant lobster tanks 'i'll have that one' (not that i could afford to eat at one but walked past them, before anyone says....) Lastly the novelty of just looking over the countryside has not worn off, nor walking fields and not hearing 'oi get off my land'.

You sound like you've been a closet peasant all along, just been trapped in a townies body !
(The cold sweat at dodgy phone signal is always amusing :sneaky: )

Welcome along, I'm fairly new here too, they are a scary bunch... But if you can give as good as you get you'll be fine!

You should see the look on my visitors faces when they finally arrive up the long track, trip over a pile of bones outside the house and realised I've locked the gate and it's too far to run for help...

I just want them to stay for a bit longer:unsure:

Hi All, My name is Richard, I'm an engineer, I live in central Hertfordshire and I like to do a bit of shooting in my spare time. For the past few years I've been shooting rabbits, crows, foxes and hares on a permission, but alas the property has change hands.

If anyone out there would like a hand in dealing with their rabbit, crow or fox problem, then maybe I can help.

Hi i'm Fiona and I'm dairy farming in NZ 460 cows for the last 20 years. My husband, who is a diesel tech by the way, and I also own a tractor & machinery repair business in town (Te Aroha) of which we are looking for 2 tractor technicians! Been advertising here for a while but there's just a huge shortage of good experienced techs. Is there anyone out there who would be keen to pop over to NZ for a job!!! ? We are paying top remuneration and have a favourable package for the right pereson/s. If you're interested or know someone who is please let us know! :)
