Snow storm coming

Wintering ewe lambs been doing the four legged jumps in the air these last few days too so stormy weather coming. Also huge flocks of geese, pigeons and seagulls inland so again another sign. Small coveys of partridge coming together to look for food and bird feeder in garden being emptied twice as fast as normal in the last few days again all signs of bad weather so nature is saying be aware.

I find it strange that country folk can be so ‘in tune’ with the countryside but barely get a say in how it should be run.

LOL... I reckon you can age somebody to maybe between 45-50 through the use of that word. I think you'd also know who Joey Deacon was?
I was at primary school when he was on Blue Peter.
People go on about 'innocent' children all being good at heart, and it's society that corrupts them. No they're not, kids are born evil, and society controls most of them as they get older!:(

My nearly 17 year old son looks at me aghast at times when I describe people with words that were perfectly acceptable when I was growing up and through my time. He is pretty broad minded, he has to be giving that I am mainly responsible for his upbringing, but I do get "You can't call aperson that!" quite often. Society has changed a damn site more in our lifetime than our parents times, my eldest being autistic has had so many different terms in the time he has been around and I was at a meeting with the Education Department, Social Workers and other interested parties in his "Transition" into adulthood and I was picked up on using the term "Learning Difficulties", it's Special Educational Needs that we use here. FFS, not that many years ago we'd have been talking about the Spasso's, Backward Kids, the Dillens, plenty of terms that weren't taken as derogatory but not nowadays.
Don't get me started on what you call people with different coloured skins!

Must admit that I had never heard of Joey Deacon until today, but the word in question was in common use when I was at school. Nearly 50 years since I left school and I dont suppose it was us that started using it, so its use goes back far longer than those aged 45 - 50. I thought it was a word that had fallen into disuse, very sad if it hasn't.

My disability description is often heard in these parts. I think it only became used regularly with it being an extremely rare condition.
Being a younger lad, and 'different' I suppose the name calling would be classed as bullying nowadays. But now well into my forties, I still here the name calling to others, but in a totally different context, so doesn't worry me too much now it's become more generic, and a totally different meaning to my condition that I was born with, and have to live with.

So next time you call someone a 'big cock'....dick....penis....etc

Spare a thought for me (y)
