Unfortunately I think the age of large swept volume engines are now behind us. It's more likely the next generation of 250hp tractors will be 4.0 than 8.0.

Very true. Realised at work the other day; the engine block for a 150-175 hp 4 cylinder tractor is not really much different in size to an old MF 165...

That'll be OK because the UK can also put huge tariffs on unfair food imports [all food imports]. If we can't do this kind of thing, what is the point of leaving the EU?

And the eu will put tariffs on all your food exports , at least half the groceries here are packed in the uk . Do u want them taxed off our shelves.

If you look at that report, John Deere sold the most new tractors in Ireland last year...It's only when you take used imports into consideration that they drop to third place......
The JD figure includes the little terragaters which are registered for the road and classed as tractors.
