What are peoples vet costs per litre of milk sold? We are roughly 1.6PPL on a loose housed system 2x milking. Wondered how this compares to other farms and systems.
That both herds including your offshore account sidney?Rough estimate of 0.3ppl all in. Including teat sealant.
Edit
What i will say is its not all about vet costs. Our labour costs would be higher through longer teat prep, extra bedding costs, etc.
Can't really look at just vet costs to get full picture. Its like looking at machinery costs but ignoring contracting costs.
Yeah both herds. That both herds including your offshore account sidney?
Yeah both herds.
Vets bill has doubled in £ terms in last 12 months.
Oh you want me to include the vet med i bought for cash? That would make the vets bill 3ppl
Honestly....i would rate you as a friend.........on the same par as.......you know who!Thats better. I like honesty.
Yawn....even get spam in the dairy forum now!are you all buying vet meds from the vet or shopping around ? surely like the ag chem world that's where the big saving can be made ?
compare some of the prices on Farm marketplace to what you currently pay maybe ?

Then the vets have too charge more for call outs and their time to make up for the shortfall in drug income.are you all buying vet meds from the vet or shopping around ? surely like the ag chem world that's where the big saving can be made ?
