Every Arla farmer was given the chance to go to on farm meetings to explain AG+, shown how to score and how to input the data. Many of the reps have also offered to help members who have struggled with the input. You are obviously computer literate to be posting on here. The Arla website for AG+ has videos to explain the cattle scoring the rest is very straight forward. We also had member meetings going through the merits and reasons for Arla garden plus. It took me an afternoon milking watching the cows as they left the parlour and less than 20mins ton input the data this time. the first input will take a bit longer but it has been well designed and tested by farmers to ensure it is easy to do.

I do understand the artic issue, but it maybe worth having it appraised by the depot even if Artics are not operating in your area. I do get that some roads just don't allow it but many farms do manage deliveries of farm inputs with Artics.

I don't doubt its easy. But some farmers just don't want anyone else knowing their business. They see it being simular to RT.
Does it do anything commercially? That would be my question if i was being asked to do it.(I am not seeking an answer to that)

Arla is simply responding to RFC and a number of the smaller more innovative European co-ops/dairies who are way further down this road of "proven sustainability and welfare".

Would these ‘innovative European coops/dairy’s’ be selling to mega supermarkets that don’t really care as long as they can get the product as cheap as possible?

I think that your point has just been proven correct!! Dale farms has just won the lidl contract for cheddar cheese to be supplied throughout it's 8000 stores European wide including the UK!! Didn't Arla hold most of that contract before?

Dale Farm has held that contract, or at least a contract, for several years now to supply UK, and I think only some of Europe. Adams used to be the back up supplier, but not sure if that is still the case.

Edit

It has become the main supplier for Europe and US, which is a new deal for us.

Don't you mean behind since muller announce their price for August now and Arla won't until later in July. On July 1 Arla owners will be significantly ahead of Muller's July price for July milk.
Well the do give their suppliers more notice of any price movement.
So do Arla look at Miller's price and say mmm lets top that as we are closer to the real-time information?
Even coops can if they want to follow the voluntary code.
