Why is fat lamb price falling so fast? Down 29p a kilo at Stirling today, and not a big number forward? A bit worrying for next mouth onwards.
If it happensCould get considerably worse after next March .
If lambs drop to £40 I’ll be stacking shelves as well...balls to stopping up all night, fannying about getting p!ss wet through, the losses, the clipping the worming ect ect all for £40Yes weather is to do with it, but still falling to fast, 40kg making 60£ next month. If this brexit carry on isn't sorted soon, l can see 40kg making 40£ again next year, with that and no Sfp to fall back on, l think l will be stacking shells in asda in 2020, not farming sheep, hopefully that won't happen.
Guess most people have weaned now if not there ready to wean.. with this heat not a lot of grass to turn lambs into so options are ween on to no grass go backwards or sell for what buyers are willing to pay.. taking into account there are a lot of lambs this time of year so high supply little demand = big money losses for producer...buyers, markets, abattoirs, wholesales and retail continue to make the same percentage on every pound spent! so makes no diffrence to them. in fact means they can buy more for there money.. it’s historic if you look at the previous years dips nothing new except less grassWhy is fat lamb price falling so fast? Hasn’t sterling dropped like a stone today, after the cabinet shenanigans? That give us a healthy bounce in the next few weeks.
I confidently predict there will be more upheaval in Westminster over the coming months, as every career politician rushes to pass on the poison chalice that is Brexit. Nobody will ever be able to deliver a deal that pleases everyone, with half the country wanting out and the other half wanting to stay in. The financial markets will continue to write off the UK economy at least until ‘something’ is signed, keeping the pound low.
(Cheerful enough for you @Nithsdale Farmer ?)
Sufficiently
The cabinet are resigning because they know they can not deliver what was promised (what the slim majority voted for).
Everything is pointing to another election IMO, which will suit the Tory's - because Labour are almost gifted power now, they'll have to clear up the mess (and do a failed negotiation)... once the dust has settled them barstewards will say they can save us from Labour all over again

I really do hate Corbyn though..... the new labour is nothing like the old labour, the new labour is all animal rights activities and protesters of everything going.
All I can give is my stock answer in these situations 'things are never as good or as bad as they first seem' Followed by I 'I will sweep the floors to feed my family'Yes weather is to do with it, but still falling to fast, 40kg making 60£ next month. But Corbyn is anti-EU so surely he is better than May for negotiations
