Drought

Well, sympathies to those who have still had none, but we were lucky with the rain today. Nothing at all since mid May then a quarter inch of drizzle and showers this morning and then the rest of the inch this afternoon in heavy showers. Just back from the school run, a lot of very relieved and smiling farmers around here now. I think West Ceredigion got some too, they needed it even more than us. :)

Had a shower lunchtime..just enough to wet the concrete,it dry dry dry going into Aug it seems I really don't know what these guys who keep their cows in all time and are on full winter rations are going to manage...robots could be the curse of many, they kept more cows because they thought they could and over the few years been ok but the situation has changed so quickly,1st cuts around here were lower...just couldt cut it quick enough to get slurry etc on for a good 2nd cut...and some I know had to go in to 2 fields to get a load of grass..time as always will tell
