at last been raining here and still is ,nearly 3/4 of an inch up to now in the last hour and a half , Can hear it soaking in , im mightily relieved and going to pour myself a tincture, hope you all get some useful rain soon

Well, sympathies to those who have still had none, but we were lucky with the rain today. Nothing at all since mid May then a quarter inch of drizzle and showers this morning and then the rest of the inch this afternoon in heavy showers. Just back from the school run, a lot of very relieved and smiling farmers around here now. I think West Ceredigion got some too, they needed it even more than us.

Will it do any good a week of rain I would think the wind and sun that came after our little bit sucked it up quicker then it fell I think

I only thought about combining barley today.

a good 1 1/2 inch overnight and more on our off lying patch ,its amazing you can see the grazing fields turning from brown to a hint of green and the haylage field that was baled yesterday is staging a recovery probably helped by the unused N as it never came a drop between 1st an 2nd . Barley 10 days away here too late for that but will surely help fill wheat. Todays job will be getting some fert on grasses and servicing the drier !!

Hopefully, as long as it doesn't make the osr sprout. Just desiccated it. Some is rotten ripe some still a bit green. At least the rain will drag the glypho in.

Around here nobody has anything left in fields to eat. A neighbour that normals makes only 1 cut of silage has made 2 and still gonna be short this winter and looking to start feeding it soon.

Yes but in a livestock area if you don’t have stock you don’t have income on a normal year. This year we’d all be better selling up and selling the feed
