27.40 yesterday. 10 sec off my pb Having not run for a month it hurt and my legs are in knots today. :hungover: @JCMaloney can you send your masseur around please, I beg you!! 658 runners, about time they split the race over 2 start times... I will join the second group...

Maybe if one day I don’t arrive late and don’t have to do a warm up 350m run from the car park to join the pack as they cross the start, I might have a sub 27min in these legs.... :woot:

In the week I am doing some serious stretching and I swear that helps recovery. I use YouTube its a brilliant tool. Also lightweight dumbbell workout. Bodyfit by Amy. My biggest problem is the afternoon utter exhaustion that kicks I around 2pm. Think that will go after a few months but the post exhaustion is what usually puts me off especially when the boys were younger. If I over do it I cant sleep which makes the whole regime a nightmare.

28.48......... not a PB but an improvement on the last few weeks. 273rd out of 512....... battle of the neighbours on the hill again!! No elbows honest.............. even toasted a 10 year old in the last 5 yards.... :D:whistle:
I`ve started doing a Sunday training run, same course in reverse....the hills are horrible that way round!!
Adding in what professionals call a "long run" during the week, managed 4.5 miles last week. Aiming to get up to a slow/steady 6 miles on the basis that I can then "blast" 3.1!! :):)

I was a bit late getting there for my 50th (official) run today.
My 42 minutes included the time everyone had been running before I got there (the tail runner was already up on the sea wall) and however long it took to get changed in the car park!
I was happy once I started catching people up on the second lap, and ended up overtaking about a dozen of them.. But now I notice half of them didn't register their finish, which is frustrating :(:ROFLMAO:

At ours the tail walkers have bar codes so are "last" through the finish.
Tail walkers are the ones who sweep up the casualties along the way and support those "at the back".
Not sure if all PR`s have them?
Mrs M (by better half) had her second hip replacement last year so aimed to Tail Walk by Jan 2109 but achieved it in Dec 2018....and she got a PB today as the "last" person was relatively quick. (y)

Blimey, she'd be doing well at that age!:ROFLMAO:

I hadn't considered someone only having done tail walking. (y)
They try and put a decent runner on tail gunner duties at ours. Apart from the safety aspect, they had some slow daydreamer do it a while ago who dawdled round taking pictures of the scenery, and came in 20 minutes after the last runner, which really cheesed off the other stewards, who had to hang around waiting for her!

Well you know what I mean!!! lol ........ our tail gunners don`t wait for late arrivals.... :stop::stop: they can crash and burn and get found next week!
Can always tell how fast the field is when you are on "pack up & storage" of stuff. If you are leaving by 10.15 its quick.
We do the bulk token sorting into 10`s while folk are finishing, we have 3 barcode scanners to keep up. I`ll do the threading of finish tokens tomorrow ...and check for missing numbers.
There was a coach trip from one of the Essex parkruns to Bushy (The original PR) this weekend..... mind you Bushy gets about 1000++ runners !!!

It was horrendous this morning, well done. My legs felt sore today so I'd decided not to go, then M&S rang up wanting to load spuds so it would have been tricky anyway.
