Small cattle sound very cheap for this time of year at £450/500 head!
Cant see how anyone can keep a suckler cow for 12 months in the long term returning those prices

£94 for 48kg charollais hoggs, cull ewes not good. Looked to be a lot of lambs coming in.

I think it will be alot of years before we see last years prices again,if ever.It will be interesting to see how people will market their lambs this season.Will everything go as soon as they hit 40kg or so "in spec",even in the glut in September/October for £60,or still keep them through the Winter?What a difference a year makes on the hoggs...

Booked some in for Woodheads next week on Tuesday and they suggested booking the next lot in as well as they were getting more cattle offered and were filling up fast.

I think a lot of the firm's buy the ewes before and the last week is usually the worst
