Night Rows

I’ve just bought a second hand one to replace two old haybobs. Do a fair bit of night swathing if catchy weather . Do have a rake for rowing up . Not picked it up yet so time will tell how we get on with it . Any tips for making tidier row if rowing up for baler for Hay ?
Good luck, 100hp tractor plenty big enough, trainee airplane pilots are not wanted.

Keep the speed down a bit, wheels up as high as they will go without the guards dragging in the soil - to get the rotors as level as you can, not cocked up to throw things everywhere like when you are tedding (although I rarely alter mine.

It tends to work better if there is a 'gap' down which the end rotor on the unspread side goes if you see what I mean - it is not like a rake that will half a big row cleanly.

If you have used the machine itself to tedd the time before you are rowing up then, if the rotor speed wasn't too high then it does leave stuff in looser rows like this.

rather than like this, below, which is night rows.

Or this which is first time through after the (7ft mower, 3 rows to the tedder row) mower with higher rotor speed.

Enjoy, in the right hands they are the best hayturner about I think. 10 acres an hour on flat ground is about my average , all those fields above plus several more were turned and tedded by me yesterday for example. - 60 acres or so.

I am much happier passing out advice than I am getting hay baled and it is more fun really, I have 60 acres cut now in various stages of readiness and am considering cutting more today, TMS on the radio, got to do something.

I would be happy with rows like that . Picked mine up on Monday . Only used it for spreading at the moment and I’m happy with the spread . Far superior to Hay bobs . Have the wheels right down for spreading at 540 rpm at about 12 k . How would you adjust for rowing up ?
put the wheels so that the rotors are as near to parallel to the ground as possible, cut the revs, and alter the tines of course
