Getting back to the OP, I would have thought South Wales did very well out of selling coal / tin / steel. Welsh coal was exported round the globe.
Not sure how we'd get on being independent from England, since the EU have f**ked off the fishing and farming industries. What's left in rural areas ? Tourism, that's all. And where do 80% of tourists who visit Wales come from ?.......England. We've had our own Welsh assembly for nearly 20 years, and what a useless shower of f**king sh!te it is too.

Not actually from those arguing for Brexit though, is it?!
It's usually thrown around as an accusation by remainers to justify calling people racist/gammon/living in the past.

"But you referred to the war, that's racist"
"No I didn't"
"But you implied it"
"No I didn't"
"Well you were thinking it then"
":oops::banghead:"

How the fudge is referring to the war racist?

None of it ever happened- couldn't have done, they were the same as us, see? Even on the same side!

Why do you think becoming independent would stop english people coming here on holiday?
It’s about being able to make decisions on what’s best for Wales.eg the Swansea bay lagoon, wylfa newydd, The electrification of the railway line to Swansea, the m4 relif road.
All Blocked by Westminster
Cardiff airport is being held back as well as they don’t want it competing with Bristol airport

Greg Clark turned down Swansea lagoon,I believe he’s Westminster based, the m4 relif road was indeed pulled by Mark Drakeford due to cost as the uk government had stated it would be liable to a 20%tax pushing the cost up to a purported 2bn. I wish you could fly to more destinations from Cardiff. Great little airport

Because splitting from the EU means that UK subjects will no longer be able to travel into the rest of Europe.
Or so we're told! (We all know it's a load of rowlocks)

I'm sorry but some of us are a bit thick here, the statement you made above, I can't see any downsides as such? We can still get on a plane and go to say, Morocco or Tunisia on holiday or even splash some cash and fly to the USA or Canada instead?

Why do English tourists visit Wales? Is it because they like the people or because of the scenery?

There must be a good reason if tourists are intent on visiting Wales and are willing to bi-pass Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Monmouthshire and Shropshire.
