Your braver than me to be rolling. Looks a bit sad from looking at your wheelings, but I’m sure you know your land better than me .

What brand is your roller? Ours looks suspiciously similar, we got on the cheap, but no idea what make they are

Yeah it was abit sad but I struggle awful on that field hilltop looks okay but is queer and slugs that bad you can’t imagine but how’s things are this year I’m well happy with how things have gone in considering nobody round us has even drilled an acre yet! Pre ems on today with slug pellets and old man will finish the last 15 acre drilling. As for the potatoes I’m not sure how that job is gonna go only grow 30 acre but know from previous years a days work soon turns into a week if trailers can’t travel or machine web keeps slowing!

these are blacksmith made by a company called arrowsmith in Alford lincs. Just down the road from us really well made just wish they was a touch wider!! Don’t know how a 12m would pull in these conditions think the tractor would slip bringing up wet and bung middle gang??

not ideal but got going this morning - farm-saved seed and a coupe L / ha of fuel so not a lot go loose, slot is closing well (better than expected) considering 177mm of rain over the last 30 days

Clive I wouldn't worry too much about slot closing. There is so much humidity about that the seed is going to germinate ok. Also the rain after (I'm sure its coming) can do a lot of slot closing.

I'm all drilled up and nearly all emerged in less than ideal conditions and the plants are all fine and pretty even.

I agree - can't see why it wouldn't grow with so much moisture

Watch the slots for slugs. I'm starting to see a few about in osr and wheat after osr.

will be pelleting every acre - would do it in the drill but we haven’t fitted a surface spreader yet. There is a small hopper spare to apply them in the slot but I’m not a fan of placing pellets with seed and would rather keep them on top

Both drills going here today on ex osr land and it’s going really well . The sun is out now also with a bit of wind , bloody rain forecast for tomorrow night now though .

Why have cotton , when you have silt , headlands will need grubbing and dry , do next field then do it tonight . Get 45 acre today then stopped till get chance to spray off a rather sticky field with nice carpet of brome and small patch ryegrass what is coming nicely. And waiting of more taty land we had to plough to dry it up

Have you pulled the press wheel up out of the way? Are you doing much with the closing wheel? I agree that pellets in the slot aren't ideal. They won't last as long if it turns wet.

firming wheel is in work but low pressure, same with guttler, it's doing a decent job and closing the slot well

a few poorly drained areas where it's not perfect but I think it will grow and at least on 12m CTF where we are putting weight is controlled

Finished the lighter stuff on this farm so moved into the tackier stuff. This hasn't been ploughed for 10 years by my reckoning. Part of me thinks the Claydon would go but it's in the back of the shed 6 miles away so we're giving this a go. Will need half a day to pitch off before it drills well though. Am I mad?

Doing some here. Looks ok from a distance but too wet really. Bean haulm clogging everything. Not burying it well. Should be leaving it but don’t like the forecast.

I know what you mean, what's being ploughed here is only just dry enough and I'd like another day of dry on it first but the forecast has changed to poo again after tomorrow evening.
