Never knowingly bought any Irish product, and certainly never sought them out because of the nationality. Came close with a C&F wind turbine but decided at the 11th hour that it wasn't for me - sometimes the best investments are the ones you don't make.....

Yeah couldn't agree more we are a very industrious nation. In Northern Ireland alone 40% of the world's screeners and crushers are manufactured in less than a 50mile radius. That in itself is a pretty huge achievement.
It's amazing how it is concentrated in areas, in county Mayo which is north west and never benefited from foreign investment within 15 miles , we have Mchales, Malone , Major , Cashels and Agrispread , and then in the south east , in Carlow , we have Tanco , Keenan , Dooley, Braughan , Smith and A&W engineering , and many more smaller companies , I'm based in the midlands and I've solved the problem of keeping baler and wagon knives razor sharp with the best Sharpner on the market known as www.agriknives.ie

You can be proud of the machinery built. When I was In the market for a couple of new trailers two years ago I end up with Smyth because they offered quality bespoke solutions at a very reasonble price. McHale is also known as good products.

Exactly what I wrote - I don't seek anything out because of nationality, but by build quality, design etc - I have had the best of stuff from China, from Germany and from France, but the worst from each of them also. For me, nationality is a tertiary consideration, at best. Thinking about it, I do have a Flemming topper and bale spike, but it's only now I've googled them that I know they're from across the water.
