Triton direct seed drill

The patent status is shown as .... "2019-11-25 Application status is Pending"
so you are correct they cannot (yet) claim they have a patent.

Is an advert or the website claiming any patent ?

Patents can take years to be approved, they should(legally) state the patent number then patent pending. It does give some protection once you’re in the process if some one infringes your patent pending. I looked into it but it doesn’t take a lot to skirt around it, it does on the other hand cost a lot of money to decently it. Some times not worth the paper it’s printed on unless you have deep pockets.

Quote from Tritons website:
Under UK and worldwide patent law ‘no crop produce can legally be used for commercial purposes if unlicensed patent designs have been used in producing the crop’.

So essentially saying if you copy the design for the leg and put it on your own drill to plant your own crops you cant legally sell said crops...

I think this unconsciously sums it all up.

its true - my old CO conversion is doing a not dissimilar job to a Triton !

However it didn’t cost a lot and actually has depth control, covering harrow and rear packer. Despite being 6m and doing a respectable 10-11kph with seed being bought to it for 20hrs a day it’s sadly not covering anything like the acres it’s claimed a Triton can in the save time and I really don’t expect to be growing big yields drilling this way in these conditions at this time of year

this is my drill of desperation in December certainly not of choice !

I think the rear packer would be a downfall on this clay as it’s the main reason we have to stop drilling. I’m going to somehow fix and weld steel rope across the whole rear packer of our sprinter to act as a scraper, dad said some of the old free flows had this kind of arrangement?

my plan was to take it off if it was a problem and control depth with the front roller which running in fresh stubble runs clean

however with so little weight on it it’s been fine on - I also had similar idea re a wire scraper !

Each coulter?

no - just wings vs center section

it not bad though really but certainly lacks the precision of a 750a / avatar but in these conditions it’s plenty good enough

........... now we are spoiling this comedy thread with actual useful information, let’s chat co’s on my co thread and leave this thread of fantasy!

blowing up your video it is actually moving a lot more soil than a triton and compressing the top down you don,t need more rain like we have had or your seed will rot ,you need side compacting blades cutting slots at side of seed to drain water away, not down ward pressure to seal the top would love to put my triton at side of your to show how good it is in the wet, but you are to far away when it is as wet as this you should try a triton this is when they come into their own a 750 a, or avatar still have down ward pressure to compact the top and impede water flow down ward put your money where your mouth is you have a front tank halve the cost,i have never said triton is best in dry but is the very best in wet, i have drill 2 days after 63 mm of rain and all seed came up thought i was mad at the time it payed off , lifting the rear wheels off the ground and running on depth control stops rear wheels compacting, can you can afford a cheep triton, or is it pride, you would be drilled up by now if you had a triton only compacted headlands left one man that came to see mine said wish my farm looked as good as this 18 out of twenty looking very good, headlands are not top yielders his new triton is arriving on his farm monday 400 acer of wheat will soon be drilled by him working two shifts ( my insurance policy has paid off with dividends this year) from 23 sep to end nov 409 mm ,20 miles away 490mm flood and wet don' stop a triton just keeping tractor on top, lossed 3 fields to flooding all sub soiled soil to loose to carry tractor properly, best straight in to stubble,on ploughing all came up but would not won't to cross it.

Isn't amazing how a customer of Triton knows so much about how many happy customers there are, right down to day of delivery and hours worked by the purchaser.

i think what we are doing has just as much chance of growing as if we used a Triton - more in fact. It’s moving more soil than I like to but no more than I see the Triton does, it’s placing seed at consistent depth and covering it 100% - it’s not rocket science but for any drill at this time of year success will be determined now by the next 6 weeks weather

if you want to prove otherwise get a drill here and I will split a field and take it to weigh-bridge yield ? Maybe put your money where your month is ?
