All sheep back in price around a tenner in factory and mart here because of virus. Someone taking the pee somewhere in the chain
Heard from a very prominent buyer that contracts for wee export lambs to Europe cancelled today. Nobody going out means no restaurants and take aways selling.

Fat ewes are going to the home market. Thankfully the good Muslim people of the currently UK haven't been forced out by all those narrow minded jobless bigots who want to take back control ??

What are they eating in Europe then? I've heard all sorts of rumours in the last few weeks, usually by people with none to sell.

Don't know what's actually occurring, but the cancelled contacts is a reality, not a rumour.

I've still 150 or so wee ones to sell

I heard today from a chap that puts a lot of lambs into Farmers Fresh in Kenilworth that a lot of the lambs go to Italy and they don't want so many.

you can have £300 for your ewes but yourd still complain at corn prices whatever 300 for wheat should be minimum 1990s prices 2020 costs no good to anybody barley price today 126 what a joke im glad ours walks off the farm.

That's crazy
Lowland blackies, one place has a Blackie tup that weighs 158kg.
In flocks the average ewe weighs 75% of the heaviest ewe, so a flock averaging 65Kg will have ewes over 85kg. Most Mule flocks would average 75-80kg so the biggest ewes in those flocks will do over 100kg.
I think most people have no idea just how heavy their ewes are.

But unsurprising. Plenty of the less scrupulous types will be cashing in whatever they can find on this trade.

I remember a dealer unloading an artic load of ‘cull’ ewes in Worcester market when prices went daft once before, all very heavily in lamb and with huge bellies.? I was quite pleased when I heard the following week that the inspector at the abattoir that killed them had stamped his feet and that dealer had his money stopped.....on all 300 of them. I doubt he learnt his lesson though. :(
I know nothing about this game so wot your saying once the sheep as Been killed they then have to kill a nearly ready to be born lamb ? Rich.

That's some maintenance requirement for a 42kg fat lamb
