Ok so daft covid question if a person dies in the uk - of say an accident but is currently carrying covid virus without symptoms is the death recorded and covid?

Pure statistics....
My take on this is that the National 63,000+ excess deaths as compared to the last 5 year average for the same period is more significant than what is written on the death certificate, unless of course you are a family member.
Yes it is, but I have a sneeky feeling that if they were to report the covid deaths properly and not just put most deaths down to it, there would be more than half of those 63,000 excess deaths down to the effect of the lockdown and not actually covid 19.

We must show that lockdown was the right decision?

That is correct but we should also mention that the last 5 years have had below average deaths till this year that’s why they are only picking the last 5 years

Ah, right ..... give us more please! Perhaps going back to the bubonic plague would have been more appropriate! Even Boris could have come out looking like half competent!!

They wouldn't be tested in that situation. It could be different if the accident happened in say a care home with previous Covid cases where the GP would use his discretion and may put Covid down as a contributory factor even if they hadn't been tested.

No lockdown in Brazil ....

Lockdown most certainly was the correct decision, but it was done far far too late - and too half heartedly without incoming quarantine after the daily 335 death rate had got established and the virus had already permeated to all corners on the UK. Maybe only just over 30,000 deaths attributable directly to CV-19 then. Hey ho, just so long as my family doesn't figure in the statistics.

I'm alright Jack !

If we didn't have lockdown when almost every other country did it and the deaths were 10 times the current figure I think a few people might have complained a bit.

Extremely unlikely, traffic fatalities have dropped right off the scale
