Start at front, knife in good order ? This year we ran std divider
Header losses will be high as pods so low this yearneed to cut low as poss. Drive as fast as poss, to catch as many as poss before they drop to floor. For me that was 7k. But we did lose poss 500kg ha.

Set combine as Two tone said.

We unloaded standing, starting auger on mid speed, then speeding up. Empty auger before stopping, worked for me.

Start first light if possible to reduce header losses.

Cut mine at 20% now on drying floor.

Only went about 100 yards in, but the crop didn't seem to want to flow into the header. Only travelling v steady.
Also managed to get unthrashed pods in the sample 🤷‍♂️.
Will need a bit of playing when we get going. 18.7% so will leave a few days and hopefully get some sun on them

If weedy spray off in August

lift auger as high as possible
open concave but no all the way
wind full on SlottEd elevator and grain auger bottoms
smooth returns
in a cr remove every other concave wire could do this in a drum combine
sieve open wide
go like the clappers to beat the fall of beans In front of the knife

If beans are tall knife to auger mid to close drive fast with real slow to lean crop forward auger will pull them in tail first. Drive fast as poss. 8/10K

However if crop short you have to use the real as in wheat Or bit faster in top of crop above The pods.
Drive fast too catch falling beans.

This year we have pods from 3” instead of the normal 18” sooo high losses.

Crop was tall but unpodded top now bent over. Still podded quite low down

If they are showing in the pods and dry then do them with the due on will reduce shattering and header loss. I find that regards moisture and storage they are not very different to wheat. Will store fine below 16%, usually ok for a number of weeks below 18% and if over 18% you need to watch them closely for heating up. Cut 10ac yesterday evening at 16% at 1.5t/ac that is about on par with our best yielding field of wheat :sorry:

What do you mean by "showing in the pods"?
