That one has been floating around on the market for years, little chance of expanding a grazing platform due to the large quarry nearby. Buildings are oversized really, will be a tough place to shift.
Land rented all over the place for silage and digestate.
That doesnt fit in with it being on the market for £4 million in 2014,and on for £2.4 million now.Their equity has been eroded. In any case, how many cows do you need to make a good living? 200 on there would have been enough to make a grand job, with some pleasure in it.
Still very few farms other markets.

Exactly what I thought, you could put 10 rotary parlours in capable of milking 5000 cows but unless you have the land to go with it they may as well be worthless. It's because you won't sell it for 4 million because there isn't enough land to go with it. It's a concrete yard and some buildings but without the necessary land to make it sustainable.
Bit like us getting but on a smaller scaleIt's because you won't sell it for 4 million because there isn't enough land to go with it. It's a concrete yard and some buildings but without the necessary land to make it sustainable.

400 cows pick the best rented land would be fine, the trouble is the details in the sale he wants the employees to transfer to new owner. And a set price for all stock on farmI know of a few people who have sort of stated they would be interested in it (land is like Gold dust in that particular area) but would only ever put in a silly low offer and laugh if they got it.
The leased land here there and everywhere would be a nightmare. 200 cows would have been ample.

Of coarse if you continue to pay the stupid money.Ah.
I also see the mineral rights to the farm have also been pre-sold to a third party.
So you're obliged to take on all the stock and the employees. Any guarantee that the existing leases to all these extra land will continue?

Be interesting if all that land came up for rent it would soon saturate they market.

I think he is milking about 200 but has his heifers contract reared now. Not sure if he has any rented land, if he does it won't be a lot. He has an Arla 360 contract which I assume he will be taking with him. It's a big move for him but I am sure he is up for the challenge.Would of needed more ground than 170 acres ? 370 head of stock
