Nice, pitty it’s a mid lift, not ideal as a yard shunter. Lovely up the M6 though….
The right buyer will get a bit more tarmac tramped with her yet. If any farmer is thinking about putting their own unit on the road then that's the one to aim for right there although I do agree a tag would be better for farm work.

Loved my 460 back in the day, a cracking unit that every driver always said "Jez that's a great going lorry" (don't let my 500's here that though lol)

I'd get a Larrington bought, air suspension and brakes so you comply with future regulations if they ever appear. Spoon hitch and you're golden s less people will be able to 'borrow' it.

I liked the look of that Volvo truck, I'd buy that just to have it sat in the yard and add to the collection of other toys. Hire trailer when needed. Probably put a driver through the HGV test to upskill him and potentially he can entertain himself in the winter or deliver corn on the truck.

Horsch chaser bin tarted up and looked after will sell again for the same money in future but don't go looking for a weird and rare small one as you'll potentially put future buyers off.

I the problem I'm having with this very idea though is the 6weekly mot, operators licence, tacho etc... there is a lot of ball ache running a truck atm. If they could simplify things it would certainly make it more appealing to more people

I can imagine there is a fair bit of rigmarole involved with that which would put people off. Wasn't there a sort of HGV operator class for farmers once upon a time?

Don't be too afraid of the safety inspections as they are basically like paying for your annual PSV but in 6 weekly instalments and depending on vehicle and circumstances you may be able to go up to 10 week safety checks.

A restricted O license can be got for haulage of your own goods only, it's not massive money to get you in the own haulage only game but you have to make sure that you only haul your own produce.. no I'm just helping a neighbour out of a hole.. VOSA don't want to here it and you won't be insured either!

You will have to buy your own card and head downloader..£300-400 and pay for monthly analytic services.

It's defiantly not beyond any farmers reach to haul their own goods but it still costs some money to get going

As above but go slightly older for paper tacho.
No adblue
Keep it right (looked at every 10 weeks) and it will do forever and a day

It does raise the question would it be safer, than tractors and possibly over weight trailers ,if there was a farmer type licence as seen in the US for hauling own produce.

Farmers can get a restricted O licence for own use

it's all a right PITA though really and you wont get seasonal truck drivers as easy as you can seasonal tractor drivers

artics are also useless if they have to leave the tarmac at all
