Kick out with your FPP system, designed with the prime purpose, of giving you the same old, same old, for ever and ever, amen.
Over here, the people decide who and how we should be represented in Parliament.
Wouldn’t be remotely possible for a Taoiseach or government to prorogue Parliament. We have safety systems.
Ha ha . You have political parties with their own private armies ...

You must explain this sovereignty to me some rainy day, when faffing about in the fields is non productive.
Do so in the context of the UK, and explain how the fact that it’s (UK’s) deal with the EU, which provides for ECJ oversight of the NI Protocol, does NOT, infringe upon and dilute significantly, this nectar you call “sovereignty”!
When you have done that, (you will need a full week of rain), explain to me then, how NI (part of UK), is still effectively in the EU single market and customs union, and subject to an entirely different regulatory regime, than the rest of UK and simultaneously UK is “sovereign”!

I would ask several more thorny “sovereignty” based questions, but I really don’t want to spoil your Christmas.

Oh, that EUrocrat whoever he or she or it is, who claimed EU is sovereign, even if he or she or it did so, probably has an understanding of sovereignty along the lines of your own! A sort of make it up as we go along type of understanding.
You display such ignorance of the ROI that it really does raise the question of if you are 'real'; but there is no chance of you spoiling my 'Christmas', you aren't relevant, just someone I use to point out the hypocrisy of the EU.

And, again, you won't tell us why the ECJ, the EC and its president are wrong when they say the EU is sovereign and not its member states.

Noted. (y)

Politicians interfering in justice system.
Well I'm off to bath to smash up the roman baths because they were horrid to my ancestors. Having read the article I note it is claimed it is easy for a judge to direct a jury on criminal damage, well seeing as the four admitted they were involved either the judge was a fool or the prosecutor was very poor. When the mob arrive at your door saying they dont like your methods of production or claim your land "belongs" to the masses because it was stolen by some ancient noble or king dont expect much h help from the law if this is the future.

The law is this country is slowly but surely being made to look an ass by protesters of all persuasions, drop a rock into a TB badger infected set on your own land & you are classed as a criminal, smash up peoples property, admit to doing it & the law considers you a freedom fighter.

Sad but true. Life on an island?🤔
Out of curiosity had you not emigrated to France would you hold the same views do you think? Many folks views are influenced by “own situations” naturally, so all this talk of freedom, sovereignty etc etc is a bit “lean” in my view. I guess the UK was never going to anything but an island. It’s a physical thing!

Kind of the other way around Martin I suppose. I left after all and my reasons for leaving were many - little Englander mentality being up there

Fair enough. Biggest drawback of Brexit is travel around Europe. Had my first stamps in my EU! Passport in Croatia and Slovenia last Sept! First stamps since around 1984/5!!

Yes, my elder daughter worked on all manner of boats around the med and ski resorts in the winters... my younger daughter wouldn’t be able too.
She did a summer on a boat called “blue ice” -
It had a web site, amazing year for her👍

Funny because I have usually found the French have a more "little French" attitude than the English, if only France was an island as well they would be ecstatic!

Not seen that but I’ve only been here 9 years yet. Mind lots of brits don’t help themselves, you hear it all the time, they start a conversation with “do you speak English”😞. And funnily enough, living with my wife in the uk for 11 years, I never once heard her start off with “do you speak Czech” (in Czech obviously- no I haven’t learnt it despite being together 20 years)

The thing is if it’s anything like Switzerland when you turn on the radio pretty much every song is in English so you kind of assume they all speak English, if they are under 40 most do.

Thing is when last GB tried being like Switzerland, by having a show of hands at the town hall, the ensuing result ensured a civil society ruction, for the next generation or two.
Perhaps it might be best, not to be Switzerland…
