Agree wi @brigadoon esp the hairy lugs. On the size side there are different types of luings as in size. In Scotland generally your Highlands and Islands have a more compact cows and you central and lowland herds are bigger cows (generally speaking.)
I would also add the calves can grow like stink on not alot.

can be difficult if trying to creep feed calves because the cows are small and can sqeeze in
Never had any issues with Luings getting into creeps - Dexters yes - but not luings or Angus

07971 231885 is the number of the Luing society field officer, Charles Symmonds,lovely guy.
We have been keeping Luing for 8 years now and my only regret is that I did not get into them sooner.
What a breed, calve at 2 years old, wide pelvis, quiet temperament,bullocks 600 kilos at 18-19 months.
