7C at tops today and rain from the east for most of the time. I've been farming a long time and don't remember such a cold April.
Fields up for silage are hardly moving, we can't finish planting because one field remains too wet. Not got as many cattle out as usual.
Perhaps it will get warmer this week but it needs to be drier as well - which isn't forecasted for at least another ten days.
