Plasma's are very clean and easy to use, just make sure that when you choose that you look at THE CLEAN CUT ........ this will give you an accurate indication of your true cut capacity (for instance both machines will cut up to 10 - 20mm very quickly)

How do they cope with thick flakes of rust, slaggy arc welds etc? Better than an oxy torch????

I am considering cutting the rotten sheet metal out of the bottom of a dump trailer and replacing it. Oxy torch struggles with rust, cutting disc is slow and cant get in corners.

Just wondered.

Hi DrWazzock

If you have never used a good plasma ........ you are in for a very big surprise, make shure that the earth return is on a grinded clean bit of metal and then cut away ....... so so simple and clean in comparison with using your gas axe.
