Cant see the point in going if thats all there going for.
Plenty do that at a certain major show 3rd week of june every year on the outskirts of edinburgh & its not cheap.

What a top agco was telling me was that they were pushing Valtra over Massey as the Valtra are giving less trouble , he said the problems with Massey are French related and the French won't listen to anybody . He said that Valtra had outsold Massey in Germany for the first time and that is the way they want it.
If Agco are planning to bin MF then why are they branding the grass kit, balers and combines in MF and Fendt colours and not Valtra? Surely if pushing Valtra then it would have the kit too.
I was told the opposite, Agco only wanted Valtra for Sisu, then will build brand and sell off and keep Agco Power

Thought Agro are supposed to be offloading the red stuff.

This is their press release from November:

Massey Ferguson announces new show strategy

and introduces on its own MFeXperience Tour events

Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), is proud to announce a new strategy to introduce and promote its full line of products and services, beginning with a new approach at EIMA, Bologna in Italy from 7th November.

As part of its new Sales & Marketing approach, Massey Ferguson will progressively move away from traditional farm machinery shows. Instead, it will focus on developing bespoke events and targeted activities to introduce and promote its new full line of products, technology and services to today’s and tomorrow’s customers, as well as the press.

The move supports Massey Ferguson’s aim to transform its connection with its customers. The personalised experience for farmers looking at their future investment, includes the opportunity to operate its products and meet with its own brand experts as well as dealer staff, within a specific Massey Ferguson event.

As part of the brand’s strategy to target a new mix of audiences and develop its own events, Massey Ferguson will continue to have a limited - yet disruptive - presence at shows. But it may not attend certain shows in the future.

The first step in this move will be seen at the Massey Ferguson stand in Hall 14, stand A1 at EIMA Show 2018, on 7th November.

“The ongoing change in the farm industry is creating new audiences for
Massey Ferguson’s equipment and new ways of bringing products to the market,” says Francesco Quaranta, Vice-President Sales, Marketing & Product Management,
Massey Ferguson Europe & Middle East.

“Automatic attendance at traditional industry events is no longer viable and does not answer customers’ needs to make their final decision for their next farm equipment investment. Farmers needs to try and test our machines, have their own experience, so they know they are the best choice for their business needs. This means we must tailor our communications to complement our messaging, timing and the nature of the technology we are presenting and to how it meets each farmer’s needs.”

“In line with Massey Ferguson’s strategy to offer a full line of products, we would need an entire hall at a show to display all of our products and combinations. At the same time, indoor shows don’t offer the possibility for customers to operate our machines and have their own experience with the brand. You can’t plough, cultivate or harvest inside.

So, starting at EIMA 2018, Massey Ferguson will launch this new approach with a smaller stand, displaying two tractors. Latest cutting-edge technology, including Virtual Reality, will allow customers and visitors to find out more about the full range of products.

Visitors will also have the chance to meet dealers and make appointments to gain first-hand experience by trying the machines on their own land and farms.

At the same time all visitors, existing loyal customers and those new to the brand, can register their interest to be welcomed as special guests at our pan European MASSEY FERGUSON EXPERIENCE TOUR – our 2019 #MFeXperience Tour. This starts in Italy in Spring 2019 and will also visit France, UK, Germany and Spain, providing an opportunity for guests to get hands-on experience of the full line of products and find out more about services to help grow their businesses.

“After EIMA, we will be also taking a new approach at SIMA 2019 and Agritechnica 2019, where we will be also offering a more focused and personalised brand experience to our visitors,” explains Mr Quaranta.

“We are aiming to deliver a true customer experience, showcasing our products and services in an attractive, welcoming, inclusive and friendly atmosphere. To do that the brand will offer both a digital and a physical experience,” he adds.

However I then get a press release today about FTMTA Show in Naas, Ireland:

The best of the best new machinery heads up MF's full-line offering at FTMTA 2019

Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO (NYSE:AGCO), is proud to announce that its presence at next month's FTMTA event will be dominated by a new generation of farm machinery and equipment, designed to make the work of mixed farming enterprises a whole lot easier. The machinery on show has been picked specifically to cater to the needs of the Irish machinery market.

With a new stand and outside display area, the MF offering is set to include the latest mid to high horsepower S Series tractors, the MF 4700 & 5700 ranging from 75 to 110 hp, round balers and telehandlers. Examples of the company's latest mower, rake and tedder models will also be on display at the event at Punchestown Racecourse near Naas, Co Kildare.

The MF S Series of tractors maintains a stronghold on the Irish market with models such as the MF 5713 S and MF 7718 S dominating within the livestock, arable, mixed sectors and contracting sectors.

Since its acquisition in 2016, the collection of rakes, mowers and tedders has gained serious momentum and is becoming increasingly popular. Hand-picked from the range, a choice of equipment will be showcased and Massey Ferguson product specialists will be on-hand to talk customers through the unique highlights of each machine.

Ready to impress upon the visitors further will be the Massey Ferguson range of round balers including the brand new MF Protec Baler. The new MF RB 3130F Protec and MF RB 4160V Protec balers combine all the benefits of the MF fixed and variable chamber balers with the addition of an integrated, specially-designed wrapper device for fast, non-stop baling and wrapping on the go.

The entire round baler model range offers a wide choice of fixed and variable chamber machines to meet the needs of smaller stock farms, larger mixed grass/arable units and high-use contractors. These balers are a fusion of straightforward operation and design excellence.

William Judge, Manager, National Sales, Massey Ferguson, UK & Eire says “We understand the needs of each individual customer and our range at FTMTA this year is proof of this. We encourage people to come and talk to us about how we can increase their business output with our most versatile and all-encompassing range yet”.

Exclusively on the stand will be a technology section where visitors can see step-by-step how the Massey Ferguson technology offering can help all aspects of their business. As well as this demonstration area, Massey Ferguson invites customers to a driving experience with the new virtual reality area.

This is just a sample of what Massey Ferguson will have on display at FTMTA Grass & Muck. To see this exciting new be sure to visit us on our new stand Pavilion 3, stand no. 350 and our outside display area 0D5, when you're there.

There's a bit of a contradiction there Chris . It proves they don't really know what their doing .

Yes, yes, folk go to Agritechnica for all sorts of reasons and no doubt some do go just for the beer, I even heard of one bunch of guys telling their wives they were going to Agritechnica on a year it wasn’t on and flights were booked for Spain. First heard about that one year when we were going to Eurotier, someone didn’t understand where we were going and assumed we were also going on the beer under the guise of going to Agritechnica.

Now I’m not saying we haven’t had a few beers and enjoyed ourselves when we’ve been to Agritechnica/Eurotier but the primary reason for going is to go to the show, and fantastic shows they are too, no disrespect to LAMMA at the NEC but they’re in a different league.

At lamma a friend of mine who has valtra dealership in the borders ,said even though fendt massey valtra are under the agco umbrella ,they all do their own thing

They book their advertising separately, but do so through a single media agent. They do seem to book space at shows together so their is some communication. But I have a separate point of contact in all three brands and they don't care what the other does.

Did anyone see sulky stand? @Robt

I missed it.
Sorry @Chae1
If you would have checked the show guide, we were in Hall 18 stand 256.....
Shame as would have been good to see you. I saw quite a few member walk past... @Will 1594 ... also spoke to a few!
Stand cost was for us 10m x 4.5m £3500...... Add hotels, haulage, carpets, electric etc... so around £6,000. Not massive but we wanted to test the water a little. I will definitely go bigger next year as it was an excellent show. My team were amazing and made sure that every single person that came on the stand was spoken to. Some were just looking but all got spoken to. I have been vocal in my thoughts and worries about Lamma. But I am delighted to be proved wrong! well done @LAMMA Show
edit, we were so busy most times people were either queuing to talk to us or decided to come back and try again! That is the mark of a great show!

That stand price was good value , that's £78/ square meter, the FTMTA show here in a few weeks is over twice that price , and they charge €20 at the door. So good value overall.
