Have a red tractor inspection in morning
Refusing to this.
Will tell her as soon as she gets here, might just speed the job up a bit.
think there is also one asking how many bales of silage we have made
Will get the same reply
Mind your own effin business
Grain Coop tells me just tell them your tonnage brought to us its all there in black n white.
I dont send grain anywhere else.

Maybe reply along the lines of “it is what it is”.

When I have an inspection the mass balance I provide to the inspector will bear no resemblance to the mass balance I’m using using for my sales. The standard as written doesn’t require you to have an accurate mass balance!

Being a member of Red Tractor is not compulsory, if you don't agree with some of the requirements to meet the standards perhaps you (we) should review our need to be a member...
You just have to meet the requirements as they are written. As a seed grower I am required to be in a ACCS to get my seed premium.
In principle I don’t have a big problem with farm assurance as a second check on what I am doing, but it has to my mind got out of hand and is claiming to be things it cannot possible be, it is asking for things that make no difference to food safety, so as far as I’m concerned if they want to play silly buggers, then so can I.

Had my inspection last week , told her my views on mass balance , then gave a figure ... I lied as Arnie would say .

Friend of mine was told last week during his inspection that he should log every load tipped into his store including the field number and also record when loaded out including the field number it came from . Anyone else had this or are the inspectors just making it up as they go along . He didn’t pass by the way .

nope - I think the new rule requires you have a stock balance, you don’t even have to tell them what that balance is just say “yes I know how much stock I have thanks“

I will not be sharing my stock numbers with red tractor- this is valuable and highly commercially sensitive data that their terms and conditions allow them to sell

it’s is compulsory if you want access to any Uk grain market other than rat bait, imports with no farm level assurance get that access by default
