Covid jab - is it compulsory?

My 82 yr old nieghbor went this morning for her booster and on the way home ,got her her flue jap at the surgery ,,now shes in bed ,shivering cold ,sweating ,the heating turned up and an electric blanket over here and she cant get warm ,,her daughter is with her just incase .
My mother is 85 and had her booster last week, knocked her for six. Temperature, cramps, aching, sweating, the lot. Couple of days and ok again. 17 yr old son had one Pfizer jab before going back to school and has tested positive now. Not one symptom at all. Is the vaccine that brilliant or is it youth on his side?

I think the vaccines were sold on a lot of lies tbh. I don’t doubt they might prevent you from becoming ‘hospitalised’ or suffering particularly badly but even then I think the data might eventually not be as good as everyone thought.

I’m no anti vac btw, I’d just like a little more honesty over the whole job.

Maybe so but the impression at the start of the vaccination campaign was to prevent transmission and protect the unvaccinated. The fact that anyone vaccinated could well end up quite ill as well as transmit the virus wasn’t mentioned at all. Even worse, the vaccinated could be asymptomatic and still spread so probably worse off really. To be fair I don’t think they want to know how effective any of the vaccines really are.

There's always going to be side effects and some people still getting ill but ,in all fairness, they had to do something and it looks like, even if only short term, the vaccines have saved a lot of lives and suffering.

Perhaps depends on what vaccine you get, 2x AZ then Pfizer booster if over 41, no choice now.
AZ seems to produce worst reaction.

She's had three Pfizer jabs. I had AZ and couldn't even tell where the needle went in,no after effects at all. Some people say if you don't react you have probably already had the bug,but some say it's the other way round. I don't think anyone knows

Had both jabs here. Waited five minutes after the first one and thought it so ridiculous I just drove home. Had the second jab since, also the flu one, and drove home straight away after both. No ill effects. I am 81.

Covid affects the brain. Most who haven't had the jab have subclinical covid as evidenced by their subsequent behaviour and some posts on here.
