@Barleycorn you said earlier in the thread about regular breakdowns with the 850,is there certain areas that gave bother as we are looking at getting a self propelled
The ones that we have run are of a certain age, probably 20 years old, and second hand so you don't know their past. We had problems with the metal detectors, and found that the automatic shearbar adjusting and sharpening is best bypassed. The actual cutting mechanism, drive, spout etc are bombproof, and unblocking in the event of a blockup very easy. Like so many modern machines most problems stem from electrics.

Yep, ordered a new Claas 840, JD was a similar price, and New Holland a bit dearer, but offered a demonstrater deal. Krone not interested in quoting.
As Claas sell 1 in 2 foragers in the world, and we can fairly easily convert our wholecrop header and mill it was a bit of a no brainer.
Good choice, hope she does you well. Find the pricing a bit surprising, would have thought it would be completely the other way around
