Massey 5610 Fan belt problems, anyone?

So, we have a problem with our Massey 5610. It's almost 3 years/3000h driven and the fan belt snaps quite often, i think it's on its sixth belt now. Yeah, it isn't that expensive, but it is frustrating when it snaps while working.

Anyone else having this problem, or is it just us?

Common problem, can't remember what problem was but dealer sorted it under warranty, would have thought they should be doing yours even if out of warranty.

Should be, a licensed mechanic has seen to it.

At first the alternator/charger was faulty, the pulley wasn't tightened at the factory (had 3 alternators under warranty in two days, then we tightened it ourselves and it's been working for two years). Also had coolant leaking problems, that was sorted in warranty, basically got a new and improved tank.

Minor faults, but still annoying. Maybe we should contact the repairsman...

I’ve been having a problem with the main belt on my MF 5610 jumping a groove or two out of the alternator pulley toward the alternator. It eventually throws or breaks the belt. Tried replacing alternator and tensioner with no luck. Agco mechanics can’t figure it out. Any thoughts from this group?

No had that on ours. The front axle weeps has had a new half shaft, blew a pipe under the cab, the rear brakes stick on and we had a coolant leak. Other than that it is a lovely tractor.

Put a straight edge on the pulleys and check for alignment... is it the model where the alternator does not have rear support like everything else with a dynamo onwards had?

Now Then..
Out of interest, pop a few pictures of the belt and pulleys on here. We used to have similar problems with some tractors..
