Opinions from anyone that has or used one. Presume since they are not manufactured anymore they aren't a success? I imagine they put a lot of pressure on the arms driving into bales etc. How are they controlled? Is there a electronic box in cab? Think something like this could speed up hauling bales. Or should I stick to front and rear double lifters? Short hauls but even 4 at a time feels slow

I’ve used one and you have an electric switch box in the cab to turn on or off each arm so you use 1 spool valve on the tractor. Good thing with the right operator on it but you can soon damage bales if you rough with them. You need a big area to unload the bales unless you are going to stack each load up before you tip another.

They were very good but times move on.
When farms were smaller with land close to home and wrapping at the stack they took some beating.
But now a lot of wrapping is done in the field and farms tend to be bigger with land all over so they just don't fit in now.

This video was taken in 2021 carting quadrant bales. The field was combined across the tramlines, hence the slow forward speed.

We have one and I like it. Better than using a trailer even a big one unless it's a very long lead. Much quicker than bale lifters. I think keltec would be better, but the trailyre was a lot cheaper.

How many bales does your one take? Any issues with weight of silage bales now? Do you notice the bale spike hole spoiling at all?

8. Seems to manage OK so far. We make 5ft bales of silage and it copes. Haven't noticed any waste but we spike them on to the wrapper anyway.
