Hi chaps I’m after a water pump and adapter plate for an early Perkins 354/372 engine? Six stud fitting and two hose outlets?
trying to replace with new is difficult? As no one has any? And I haven’t got an old one to refurbish sadly!
any help anyone ?
the engine is fitted to a 1972 MF 625
many thanks

Have you a picture of the type you need?
I thought they were all the same.

There are several different versions 6 stud? Which is what I require plus there’s 7 stud and 8 stud 🙈😩
a picture of what I require! Plus I need the adapter plate as well which was a separate part 🙈 figure 24 on parts list!
I’ve tried all of the main stockists in uk Nothing? Re new one! So I’m looking at secondhand now😢 at least I could refurbish that!

Parts from Poland ??? Now not wanting to tar everyone with the same brush but I have seen some questionable stuff from there. Quite how they have parts there cheaper than the UK I couldn't figure out, seen stuff in MF packages which was clearly not genuine. How and why would a former communist country have parts in stock for a 1970s combine which they have probably never even seen?
Having said that at 68 quid plus shipping its worth a chance if there really is no other options, have you checked with Sparex? They do/did many types of Perkins 6 pot water pumps.

Try Brian Robinson Machinery
He used to have a huge stock of Massey combine parts

Have dealt with breakers and new part suppliers over there would put a lot of the UK/EIRE businesses to shame. What's the difference when the bits are made in China between shipping to UK and shipping to Poland. Also bits for agey kit are more readily available over there because that's what a lot of them are using still.

I think as these countries bought all of our chucked out machinery? Because we all wanted equipment bigger and fitted with everything we can’t fix ourselves? They on the other hand went down the other route of keeping it simple and manufactured parts for older combines and machinery? Probably most wouldn’t want to go back to that old stuff? But financially it works for them! And competition is tough for us? As we struggle to pay for modernisation ?
