Claas Jaguar 860 issues!!

Evening all,
just finished another slow and painful day of chopping mix of light 3rd cut, wet 3rd cut seeds and overgrown 2nd cut. My issue is, I’ve got a 1995 Claas jaguar 860 self propelled. I brought it secondhand spring 2022.

Last year it mauled through 3 cuts. Since it was put away liars autumn is had, blower paddles, a belly pads and a pick up refurbishment.

Then chopped a heavy 140 acres of first cut. But it kept blocking on the feed rollers.

So for second cut it had new knife’s, shear bar, smooth roller scraper, anvil.

Then it chopped an average 100acres of second cut lovely, but the last 6acres the problem started again. We did find the wires were loose from the metal detector to the dead stop so we tighten them all up.

so today we’ve started chopping all the light crops it’s been a nightmare for blocking at the feed rollers. But the heavy crops it’s been fine in.

other than only chopping heavy crops has anyone any ideas what it could be or what to change next??

You say blocking, and wires on MD were loose,
Is it a MD problem, or feed rollers skidding on grass,
As if feed rollers skidding on grass would not be anything to do with MD.
If skidding on grass, feed rollers may have lost there aggression to grip, this usually happens more in wet fresh grass, and if the scraper on bottom back feed rollers is worn, it needs to be good, and can build up with a little grass jammed in it and act as a obstacle to stop grass in flow, reversing it out can clear it till it builds up again and block, needs to be plenty of tension of top roller springs to compress it to grip,
If the drive clutch is worn it could be tripping out giving the feeling its blocked, trailer driver should be able to see if its doing that by watching feed rollers
If MD is at fault, check rubber bump stops are good, as the banging down can set MD off, also check the plug for making good connection of power,

Make sure the feed rollers are both being driven properly as well had some issues with our newer class and the bottom roller was just free wheeling. Trailer man spotted it looking back into the header while being filled
