First time I've ever seen a "brecknock"....
That is not a Cheviot
That is not a Cheviot
Had some Welsh folk in today and they were talking about the Brecknock Cheviot seemingly a lot of Southie in them.

Aren't they usually a little more subtle than that?
Bred from cheviots brought into wales and crossed with Welsh ewes in the 19th century.

But I’d still say that a Brecknock cheviot that’s been stabilised and called a cheviot for 150 years probably can still be called a cheviot . Not that I’m that worried at 11pm ,but there we go.

Caithness is a Northie - a cross between the Park and Hill type (Northie)

They're all a bit mixed up, there's often a few bought in sennybridge to go up to Scotland and vice versa. They started when Cnewr Estate stocked up with cheviots in the 1900's.
Of course it’s a Cheviot, can’t you see the dip behind its shoulder?
