can someone help me , bort this tracter from auction yard because i felt sorry for it and im stupid, probably should have been in a wrecking yard 3 owners ago but its to late now so will have a crack at fixing it.going by eng plate pretty sure its european[ french ] model, chassis stamped with a TL 77 660465 .the main hyd pump puts out 2800 psi at remotes, the steering works and the loader lifts as well, 3 pt link seems to work too . input shaft is spinning into tranny im pretty sure power is going thru to pto shaft, looks like last owner [ 2nd stupidist person in australia ] has done the filta, all linkages look to be working. im not sure wot tranny this is but r.h. side short lever does fwd nuet rev, next lever is 4 shifts, next one over is a,b,c,d, ranges e, f, not provided at factory but this lever pushes fully over and locks into a position unknown to me because simbol has been broken off. it doesnt even feel like any gears have engaged when i put it in gear and there are not noises coming out of the box, absolutly no movement at all from the tractor. any help would be apreciated as this machine has transformed my household from peacetime to a 'WARTIME' status with me and the wife [ upper management ] cheers.

Now Then..
Look at the front right hand side of the chassis, just above the axle, there should be a serial number stamped in the chassis and on a VIN plate. It should be L06200#XXXXXX where # is a letter, X = numbers..
It sounds like you have a Powrquad transmission, 4 hydraulic shifts. It could have 4,5, or 6 mechanical ranges, A,B,C,D,E,F. However you'd have to look underneath and see if it has the option box fitted. Report back, eh..
Ohhhhh, and get some pictures..

that's a power quad transmission thats in that the range handle (A-f) that locks into park lock position usually breaks the plastic tab. the transmission in them are handy done, cab tips over to the left in them and they and be lifted out of the chassis. id probably start checking transmission pressure plug a gauge into the front of transmission theres a quick release fitting there you need around 11-13 bar pressure, you should have same pressure in both forward reverse 1,2,3,4 splitters and when using 4wd and pto.

some muppet has welded the loader strut over the spot where the s/n plate would have been so i,ll have to wing it a bit when it comes to the ser. number, have posted foto,s if you could look at them and tell me where to plug pressure guage in i can check that. thankyou for replying. cheers

Power quad 16 speed and right over and back is the parking brake. Select only when stopped! 4wd rocker switch behind forward/reverse lever. Rear lift on the slider and the dial behind to set draft control, turn right back for position control only. Cover behind the lift slider lifts up to give two dials, one height of arms other drop rate of arms. Three speed pto gear selector and yellow knob lift and twist for pto. Simples really but looks like you have the floor out fuses should be in the side panel below pto selector but looks like not much there.

i lightly sandblasted the back and front of fuse panels to clean them up and put in 10 or 15 amp fuses where eva i could see one should go . it was missing a lot of stuff im tryna work out if the trany prob could be electrical. ie falty oil sesor. and wether these old johnys disabled the tracta wen that stuff happens. looking at simple stuff first if any body ,s got suggestions. still need to follow up on pressure test.

There is a damper between the engine and gearbox. The output from the engine has a prop with a rubber doughnut coupling to the transmission prop. Worth checking first that it's OK but probably will be if you've got hydraulic pressure.

So, if you engage A,B,C, or D range, put the FNR lever in forward or reverse,,,, what happens??
Have you tried anything on the PTO shaft to see if it drives??
The easiest way to pressure test it is to put a gauge in the rear PTO valve at the port marked 'Brake'.. see what you get..

sorry fotos wernt great, took at night with lights/ no flash. wen put in gear the tracta does absolutly nothing i cant hear any gears engageing either. i checked pto the other day and thought it was engageing but i didnt have imp on it cause its in the workshop. reckon i might go back and do that again in case i muffed that one up. ive seen the 'brake' port your talking about , pulled the bung out the other day for a look so i,ll get a pressure reading for you, assume : eng running, pto on , trany in gear. sorry if i drop of the planet for a coupla days, me and the young bloke have to go drilling for water over next 3 days while temps back in low 30,s. can,t fix old johnys but we know how to do "drought" , wrote the book on that one. cheers mate

Worth checking on transmission at All points where the cables from shift levers attach to shifter arms and verify that they are transferring lever movement to shifter arms, roll pins have been known to shear with age/abuse.
Even without engaging the A-D gears when fnr lever is in reverse you normally would hear planetary whine from 4 speed box.

done a kwik check on the clevis / shafts with the wife the other nite , will go back and check again in sun light. pretty sure i had it in rev a couple times, dont recall hearing any whineing coming from trans, plenty coming from the drivers seat though [ it was 8.30 pm ]

I think “one lonely farmer” on YouTube did good Videos of repair and overhaul of a 6200 cabless power quad transmission
Also “western truck and tractor repair “

You only need the engine running to test the transmission oil pressure. It's the fastest test you can do.
If you have pressure at the rear SCV outlets (remotes) there's nothing wrong with the engine to transmission drive.
The transmission hydraulics are powered by a pump in the front of Powrquad. So, the 1,2,3,4 shifts, rear PTO and MFWD clutch all receive oil from there..
On the subject of your drought situation, if you send me an empty shipping container, I'll gladly put a funnel in the top and send it back in a week... The rain rarely stops lately 🌧🌧🌧☔️
