Hi all,
As the price of drones are dropping like a stone, I was wandering if anyone use them regularly for checking crops and or livestock at all ??
Ideally I’d want one that could go 6 miles or so. That would save a lot of driving !! 2.5miles seems the standard distance for “hobby” drones...
Hi all,
As per title, I am struggling to find replacement discs for my KRM Optidrill. They are a flat, notched disc. Approx 400-410 diameter. 4 bolt fixing. The hole in the centre to accommodate the hub is approx 71mm diameter. Bolt holes are 65mm apart.
Have tried the usual sources -...
My uncle (86) always has a saying when trying to start an engine on a cold morning ….. “Heat her till she pops “
I had always assumed this just meant, give it plenty of heat before starting to crank.
However, just lately, our 390 has been getting harder to start on cold mornings due to the...
I have always liked the idea of rebailing both hay and straw into conventional bales.
Much less stress in the summer - just smack it into big squares or rounds just as it’s fit, so easy to cart, stack. Etc…
Then, in the winter, when it’s cold and wet outside, feed them into a conventional...
Hi all,
We’ve got a bit of an unusual electrical issue with a 58 plate valtra n92.
It has the electrically actuated handbrake operated on the shuttle lever.
The starter motor will only operate with the lever in the park position..
BUT,
There is no power to the fuel shut off solenoid.
If...

I have lately been wondering whether feeding up our cows every day with a telehandler is as efficient as it appears??
telehandlers by their very nature are fuel hungry with big engines, torque converters and heavy weights?
With diesel going up as it is - I’m going to experiment with running...
Hi all...
Ive just ‘acquired’ a mf300 crawler loader which has been sat outside for a long period. The engine is a Perkins 4.248.
When I pour water into the radiator, I can hear it running at quite a rate into the engine sump! Not ideal !
We have managed to get the engine running enough to...
So, with the lack of available 24m boom type granular fert spreaders about, I've been thinking .... (always a dangerous situation!)
I've got some nice 24m alloy spray booms sitting in the bushes... all hyd fold etc.. and the frame that fits onto my SP sprayer..
And
An old Accord DL...
Hi all..
We run a mixed arable and beef farm, with both permanent 'old school' pasture meadows and 3 to 5 year lays in the arable rotation.
Currently we don't do much in the way of grassland maintenance, maybe some occasional rolling but nothing intensive..
I would like to improve the...
Been watching a few harvest videos on YouTube, of harvest in the states and Canada.. bottom dump trailers are pretty much all you see...
Why are they not used more here??
No hydraulics, no tip height to worry about, lighter build..
admittantly you need a pit to dump into but that seems...
Looking for a 100hp or thereabouts, light and nimble but with all the features found on the bigger models, e.g. Front susp, cab sus, decent gearbox, a/c, loader, decent cab etc
Is it possible to find one without getting too heavy and big !
Looked at JD5100r and claas 420 thus far..
Hi all,
I have never had any experience with tracked machines. Ive noticed you don't often see them with front mounted implements. Is there a reason for this ?
We run a front press on our drill tractor and have a 4.8m mounted drill.. would a tracked machine run this set up or would it...
Just wondering if anyone had any fantastic ideas on how to wind up barbed wire for re-use?
Trying to wind it back on its spool seems like hard work and a good way to shred your hands !!
Got a section of fencing we put up last year that has to me moved and it seems a waste not to try and re...
What is going on here, any ideas ??

Dad bought a couple of relatively expensive cows as in calf heifers... really good stock, great genetics, etc
On paper they are far and away our best cows...
In reality they are an absolute nightmare... one in particular has had problem after...
Got a bit of a decision to make regarding our grain handling, and some opinions would be appreciated....
We grow about 6-700 tonnes of cereal each year.. not a huge amount..
My apprentice has just finished his apprenticeship and immediately upped sticks and left, causing me to re-think my...
Hi all,
We have an opico 555xl mobile drier. This is our first time growing and drying OSR, and I have been warned about the risk of heating it too much incase of fire ! What kind of settings are people using to dry this stuff ?? I assume that the only way of telling you are using too much heat...
