Hi lads & ladies . I am thinking of availing of the TAMS young farmer grant for a 2000g tanker & dribblebar. I have a 120hp massey 6cylinder. Is this enough power to operate a tanker that size ? Land is flat & not soft
Thanks
Hi All,
Currently looking at buying a new slurry 2000g tanker and trailing shoe system. So far, Belmac are pricing considerably cheaper than the competitors. Just curious to find out peoples opinion on the brand and their experience in terms of performance/quality.
Any feedback appreciated.
The method of slurry application can impact on the amount of nutrients that are available to the crop. Minimising environmental losses.
Application of slurry
Applying slurry properly and at the right time will minimise environmental losses, ensuring that the crop receives the proper amount of...
We are in the market for a new slurry tanker, we have priced up a few makes and wondering if anyone has any experience of grass technology, looking at 3500 gall with turbo fill and dribble bar, looking at twin axle on 750 tyres

Do you actually use: drone scanning technology, 3D mapping, temperature and moisture sensors, farming data, or any of the "modern sophisticated farming equipment" that engineering blog posts talk about. I'd love to hear whether this stuff is actually used or just bull-crap.
Been watching loads of videos of slurry pumping in Europe I’ve been thinking for a while I’d like a arm to extend on my dribble bar to let you turn easier and make tidier headlands I seen the Schouten injectors have this
Does anyone on here run one how is the slide sealed so slurry doesn’t...
Hi all,
Does anyone else have trouble getting slurry to o through the dribble bar when it's thicker. It's fine on the splash plate but it's really slow through the dribble bar. Looking at it in the pit you would think its fine to go through. Is there any tips to get it going better or are they...
Using dirty water as a source of moisture for the grazing platform could lead to rejected paddocks or poor residuals. This is caused by high potassium levels which make grass taste bitter. Although it grows a lush and leafy cover, when the irrigator can only reach the same few paddocks, it...
So we are about a fortnight away from turning on a new slurry system. This will mean nothing has to be spread until ground conditions are right.
Silage ground is an hour round trip but most will get some for first and second cut.
However the home platform is all grazed. How and when do people...
We got a leaflet and associated info through early this year saying as of January 1st 2023 all slurry on a farm in Scotland with over 200 cattle in total must apply slurry using a low emissions system, and there’s a grant to support this.
We’ve ordered one but I can’t say the idea fills me with...
Livestock slurries are a valuable nutrient resource for arable fields and grasslands. Slurries provide a source of organic nutrients, help build soil health, and reduce farm reliance on synthetic fertilisers, thus reducing artificial fertiliser costs. In addition, nutrient cycling from manure...

Just wanted to give everyone on here a heads up. If you get contacted about the above asking to come out and give you some free "advice". I would not accept under any circumstances.
I got told that it was to do with countryside stewardship and was only coming to offer advice on grants etc. I...
